Hey there, I’m Patricia Sweeney, CEO, and Founder of Ideally Media. I literally work with a lot of entrepreneurs all day every day and what we really talk about is how to implement marketing and business process automation in their businesses, so I am definitely what you would call an expert in that space. I did that for many, many years in my own businesses both offline and online and I found such a huge gap here for people and I get super passionate about it … It was literally something that I was like “I’ve got to help people with this,” and I totally love the tech and the possibility that putting real automation in businesses creates for folks, and so I found myself naturally gravitating to this really being what I do in my agency.
Put the Easy Button to Work for You
So, yes, the easy button, it is possible, but it depends on what it is your trying to create. Generally speaking, where most people get stuck actually putting the easy button to work for them is that they’re trying to do too many things at one time. They have this big picture about where their business is going to be and all these awesome things that they want to do that people have a tendency to try to automate things that they don’t actually have a real manual process for.
Do Not Automate What You Can Not Do Manually
One of my golden rules is you do not automate what you can not do manually, and so, it’s kind of like saying, “Look, I want to go hire someone, and they’re going to come in and be this amazing content creator and they’re going to make all this amazing content for my brand, and it’s going to be the best thing ever, ever, ever.”
But if you haven’t actually done that yourself, and you have no idea what that looks like, how could you possibly give that person direction to create a result and an outcome that you want? It doesn’t work. That’s like saying if you’re going to automate a sales process, right, and have all this cool follow up, and if they click this button then we want them to do this, and then if they buy this thing, then we want to offer this.
But if you don’t have a sales process that’s actually happening right now that looks like that, then it’s not time to automate it, okay? What it is time to do is map it out. It’s to think about it. It’s to figure out what you want to happen when and then actually apply that in real-world time with real people, with your team, with your clients, with your leads, and then what will happen is you will find gaps. You will find, “Oh, that’s right. Shoot, there’s this whole other thing that people are doing when they come through the sales funnel. Actually, we need it to do this, this, and this,” right, so that’s a huge mistake that some people make.
What Can Automation Do for You?
Now, true if you don’t know what’s possible in automation, it’s really hard to map that out. I get it. That’s why we consult with a lot of people to help them understand those possibilities. However, if you’re trying to automate what you cannot do manually yet, you’re already starting off on the wrong foot. You’re basically setting yourself up for failure. So don’t do that, okay. That’s the kind of the big picture thing that people tend to do that causes a ton of problems and we have to kind of take like 10 steps back to take two steps forward once you’ve spent a lot of time, money, and energy automating things that you don’t know how to do manually properly.
The other thing that people really run into with this when they’re trying to get to the easy button is again, they have this big picture of what it’s going to look like down the road, and yeah, they get that automation can help the business process.
- It can help with their billing.
- It can help with their fulfillment process.
- It can create dashboards. It can nurture leads.
- It can upsell people.
- It can down sell people.
You can do all this fun stuff like a ninja, right? However, you can not put all that in place at one time. You don’t go from barely hiking on a trail to climbing Mount Everest in a week. It doesn’t happen. Okay?
If you don’t have real automation in your business now there are fundamental things that you should be looking at, things that you should be paying attention to. Very specific small tweaks that you can put in place now that will create positive ROI and more freedom and more time and more surety that your processes are really in place strongly. That’s where you want to start, right?
What do You Focus On?
But then the question is “Well, what do I focus on?” Right? There are all these things. There are all these amazing things that I want to do but what should I get started with? All of those questions are something we literally deal with every single day which is why I created the automation assessment quiz. It literally is a quick five-minute quiz. When you’re done with the quiz, you actually have a custom generated automation assessment PDF that you’re going to get, and that’s going to break down for you: This is where you are. This is where you want to go, and these are your key areas that you should focus on today based on where you are.
Once you get your automation assessment report, you’re going to be taken to a thank you page where you’re going to have the ability to go ahead and actually book a call with either myself or someone on my team. It’s called an automation action plan consultation because it’s great to have the information, but pretty much everybody wants to know “Well, how does XYZ apply specifically to my business?” I get it. Even though there’s a lot of very basic stuff that really applies across the board, your business is your business, and you understand your processes where they are today.
How do you get where you specifically are today to actually this other place that you want to be?
We’re going to take your results from the automation assessment and we’re actually going to help you understand what should be your plan. What’s next? What should you be able to focus on? And we’re going to be there to answer your questions. Now, absolutely, I have a marketing agency, and if it makes sense for us to work together depending on your timeframe, depending on your budget, depending on where you are now and where you want to go, of course, we have solutions for you.
But no matter if you’re working with us or if you’re going to do it yourself or if you’re going to plan on doing it very soon, whatever that may look like, at least you’re going to walk away from that call understanding what you need to focus on, so that’s my invitation to you. Get yourself your own easy button and start building it today.
